Corporations and Organizations
The Australia-Japan Wildlife Conservation and Education Foundation
(AJWCEF)
is a not-for-profit organization that was established under federal law in
September 2009.
The
AJWCEF strives to achieve a balance with the environment - that is, a better
way for humans and nature to coexist - and we believe that education is a
vital element in attaining this.
Also important, is cooperation across
national borders, and the AJWCEF
seeks to develop wildlife conservation and education activities on the
foundation of the ties that exist between Japan and Australia.
While conducting
independent wildlife conservation and environmental protection activities as
well as providing support for operations and facility maintenance and
improvement of government facilities, the AJWCEF
also supports grass-roots wildlife conservation activities by volunteers in
Australia and Japan. The AJWCEF provides opportunities to Australians and
Japanese to learn about the ecology of unique wildlife in Australia,
particularly endangered species, and conservation activities to prompt
consideration of "a better way for humans and nature to coexist." We will
also contribute to furthering mutual understanding and the friendly
relationship between Australia and Japan.
Therefore, we would ask that corporations and organizations, etc., that
support this goal to contribute in any of the following forms as considered
most appropriate -
ccorporate membership,
donation, support for publicity activities, material support, etc.
Corporations/organizations that provide assistance will be acknowledged as
having done so in AJWCEF publicity activities, seminars, symposiums, study
tours, training courses and international conferences, etc.
Corporate Membership in the AJWCEF
Membership is payable annually in units of 50,000 yen in
Japan, and units of AU$600 in Australia. There is no limit on the number of
units, and the number of units may be amended at the time of renewal of
membership. To ensure the smooth and continued operation of AJWCEF
activities, we hope that corporations/organizations can provide long-term
support as long as their circumstances allow. To become a member
please download and complete the application form below
in a format of your choice and forward to the AJWCEF Head Office by e-mail, fax or regular

Increasing urbanization in recent years
has seen a marked increase in the number of wild animals
brought into wildlife conservation and rescue facilities,
making upgrades to facilities and the need for extra
equipment and supplies a matter or urgency. As such, we are
also seeking donations of equipment and supplies, etc.
Please contact the AJWCEF Head Office if you think you may
be able to assist in this area.

Support for Publicity and
Educational Activities
The
AJWCEF conducts educational activities in Japan in the form of
seminars and symposiums, etc., inviting experts on wildlife and
environmental protection from Australia and other countries. Through the
cooperation of the Australian Embassy in Tokyo, the Queensland Government
Office in Tokyo, the Nippon Veterinary and Life Sciences University and the
Japanese Society of Prophylactic Veterinary Medicine, the AJWCEF organized
for Dr. Allan McKinnon, Manager, Moggill Koala
Hospital and Team Leader of Wildlife Management, Queensland Parks and
Wildlife Services (Queensland government) and AJWCEF consultant; Mr. Andre
Mayne, Counsellor (Agriculture) of the Australian Embassy, Tokyo, and' Dr.
Tetsuo Mizuno, AJWCEF CEO and Executive Director to give presentations about
Australia's endangered species, Australia's quarantine system, and zoonotic
diseases, respectively, at the 2009 symposium of the Japanese Society
of Prophylactic Veterinary Medicine. It is for occasions such as this, that
we seek sponsors, or corporations that are able to provide assistance in
terms of venues and equipment and support in publicity, etc. If you
would like to provide assistance, please contact the AJWCEF Head Office. We
would also welcome the opportunity to give presentations on wildlife and
environmental conservation at your own corporate event or function.
